The IDB Group's Staff Retirement Plans Pension Administration team is part of the Executive Secretariat of the IDB Group Retirement Plans (VPF/SRP) and oversees administering the benefits and actuarial lifecycle of six retirement plans for international and local employees. With over 5,000 participants, the Secretariat needs a strong team of professionals to administer pension benefits, payments, and associated pension administration systems in an efficient manner.

What you’ll do

  • Perform the required tasks for the determination of pension benefits for the Staff and Local Retirement Plans, restoration of service, and transfer of pension rights under the IDB Retirement Plans agreements.
  • Apply Bank's Personnel Policies and Retirement Plans' Regulations to effectively counsel Plans' participant on benefits and retirement options, as well as long-term financial impact on participants and beneficiaries.
  • Maintain transactional flow, payment reconciliation, and other spreadsheets used for reporting purposes; as well as to verify the accuracy of bank statements and the reconciliation of all reports in order to identify and correct errors.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and presentations for Bank's senior management and Plan's Governance Committees.
  • Assist in monitoring current pension trends and to provide support for in-depth research studies on-pension related matters.
  • Support the improvement of the business processes, tools and methodologies related to pension administration.
  • Work with the Bank's internal and external auditors, payroll, budget, and accounting personnel.

What you’ll need


  • Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration or Law: concentration on Human Resources or similar preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in pension administration related matters and/or human resources management.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another Bank official language is desirable.

  • Human Capital Policies and Strategies: Demonstrates knowledge of HR, Payroll, and Pension policies/programs and the ability to design, update and apply them. Aligns people strategies, policies, and programs with the IDB's strategic direction.
  • Client Focus: Understands client needs and provides services that meet their expectations for quality and performance. Strong quantitative skills and proven track record in customer service. Ability to monitor, analyze and initiate transactions, prepare reports, and monitor compliance.
  • Change Management: Applies state of the art change management theory and practices to anticipate, identify, conceptualize, and implement change activities that ensure impact on key initiatives and shape organizational culture. Develops imaginative ideas and solutions through creativity, experimentation, and critical thinking.
  • HR and Pension Programs Administration: Administers and improves processes and programs to ensure that goals are achieved while maintaining workplace compliance, consistency, and fairness. Leverages technology to enhance client services and contain costs.
  • Assessment, Measurement and Analytics: Analyzes data and trends to identify, diagnose and solve problems, and make decisions contributing to enhanced retirement programs, processes, and/or systems. Establishes key metrics and monitors progress toward objectives.
  • Collaboration, Teamwork and Inclusion: Works cooperatively with others, independent of background (e.g., gender, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, background, perspective) or organizational role, and takes a team-based and inclusive approach to projects and decision making. Meets the Bank's expectations for ethical behavior.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicates effectively and leverages relationships and strategies to influence others.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
