Pediatric Physical Therapist
Hours per week: A few afterschool hours to start (but we would love to have you for more)
Preferred day: Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays
Start Date: January 2023

At Sensational Steps, we utilize a child-led, family-centered, and relationship-based approach to promote a child's independence through the use of play. Sensational Steps provides quality, individualized 1:1 OT and speech therapy at our Spring Lake office and, very occasionally, within the home or school setting within 15 minutes of the clinic. We also hope to offer groups in early 2023. We currently have 4 OTs and 2 SLPs providing services at our main office. We are looking to add a Physical Therapist to complete our awesome team!

Common diagnoses we treat include: Anxiety, Apraxia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Cognitive Disorders, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Fine Motor Delays, Learning Disabilities, Pediatric Feeding Disorder, Prematurity, and Sensory Processing Disorder.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a physical therapist and in pediatrics. Candidates with advanced trainings and certifications in various areas are preferred. At Sensational Steps, we support the DIRFloortime approach and currently specialize in sensory integration, feeding, listening therapy, and more. While we love our therapists to have experience in a couple of these areas, we are also excited to add therapists that have additional interests and specializations! We are looking forward to gaining a more diverse population with the additional of physical therapy.

Therapists will be responsible for completing comprehensive evaluations, providing individualized, child-led interventions, providing parent education/coaching, and creating meaningful home programs.

Job Requirements

• Current Michigan licensure
• Two years of experience as a PT
• COVID Vaccination
• Must have driver's license and be willing to travel to provide services throughout the tri-cities area. However, we do very little in-home and school-based therapy, so traveling would be rare (or not at all).
• Afterschool availability

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

This opportunity will be a few afterschool hours. There is great potential to grow your caseload over time to a full day or additional afternoons during the week. Most sessions will take place at our new Spring Lake office on Van Wagoner.
