To help us continue to grow our offerings, we are in search of an experienced Product Development Leader (PDL) to serve and lead a team of Product Owners throughout North and South America. These Product Development teams focus on leading new product development and ongoing maintenance of our Protein product lines.

The PDL - Protein is a key leadership function to support the execution of the global product roadmap for the Protein product lines. This position has the responsibility of leading the North and South American Product Development Product Owners. This position contributes to the strategic vision of the product lines in collaboration with the Product Development Leadership team. The PDL supports the strategic outlook on future capabilities and requirements, outsourcing resources alignment, needs of training, as well as new software and tools.

The PDL is accountable for managing and developing the competencies of the Product Owner team based on the requirements outlined by the product organization as it relates to New Product Development (NPD), Engineering to Order (ETO) and current products (CP) Support: Skills building, staff coaching, growth plans, staff engagement.

This leader proactively collaborates with other PDL’s to share competencies contributing to the organic growth of the capabilities of the entire Global Protein Engineering staff.

This position reports to the Head of Product Development - Protein.


What You Will Do


  • Responsible for planning and sourcing the right Product Owner capabilities and capacities to ensure resource availability for the product team organization and associated product development priorities
  • Build partnerships to ensure capability development within the Product Development organization
  • Support successful working processes with cross functional Product Development (PD) Agile teams
  • Coach and mentor Product Owners to maximize their effectiveness as leaders within the Product Development organization
  • Work in close collaboration with the Product Development Office team to provide and implement best practices and shared knowledge throughout the team of Product Owners
  • Support tools and global processes alignment and implementation with proper resources across AGCO G&P working in strong relation with the project owners (PO)
  • Proactively plan and coordinate Product Owner team member skills/capabilities/capacity requirements with Product organization to ensure necessary skills are aligned with product roadmap requirements and strategy
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering leadership to ensure development and support teams are properly staffed for success
  • Responsible for managing the performance appraisal process of the Product Owner staff team
  • Development of processes to assess Product Owner capabilities, development capabilities and performance


What You Will Bring


  • 5-10 years of direct leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Product Development or Product Management
  • Broad engineering knowledge
  • Broad and deep Product Owner knowledge
  • Business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and achieve results through influence rather than control
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills
  • Global mindset
