Hours: 40/hours week, M-F, onsite


Position Announcement: Jasper Mountain seeks a Payroll Specialist to work as part of the agency's financial office team, processing payroll and associated tasks for the agency’s employees (approximately 140 staff) as described below. Jasper Mountain is an accredited and internationally respected intensive mental health treatment agency serving young traumatized children and families.


Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in processing payroll, utilizing accounting and HRIS software
  • Competency in creating and using Excel spreadsheets (including calculation/formula functions)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Completion of AA or higher degree in bookkeeping or associated field preferred but not required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize financial HRIS/accounting software to process employee e-timecards including hours worked and PTO with appropriate withholdings
  • Process paychecks on a bi-weekly basis, according to regularly scheduled dates and times to ensure employees have access to their paychecks as outlined by policy
  • Ensure state and federal payroll taxes are completed by our HRIS each pay period within the required timelines
  • Track retirement fund contributions, employer match for each employee, and reconcile information in collaboration with the retirement plan third party administrator
  • Transfer plan contributions accurately and in the required timeframes. Keep organized and complete 403(b) records for each participating employee and assist with annual retirement plan audit
  • Provide information as requested to Department of Labor, or other governmental or associated authorities for mandatory employer surveys related to payroll
  • Respond to requests for employee income documentation, such as: loan authorization documentation, garnishment requests, unemployment benefits, workers compensation benefits, child support, and other employee-specific wage documentation as required
  • Maintain financial records, employee pay and benefit records. Assist with annual financial audits as requested
  • Work as a team with Human Resources staff to ensure employees are tracked and receive applicable wages and benefits with appropriate deductions
  • Follow all agency financial policies pertaining to role
  • Assist in other requested duties requested by the Director of Finance, HR Manager, or Executive Director.

Supervision: The Payroll Specialist is under the direct supervision of the HR Manager or the Director of Finance.


Compensation: Wage depends on education and previous relevant experience ranging from $51,209.60 - $65,561.60/year. Benefit package includes health insurance (agency pays for 100% of premium for full time employees), Dental, Vision, Aflac, HRA, FSA, 403(b) retirement, and PTO which begins accruing on first day of employment.
