What we're looking for

Vacasa is seeking an experienced payroll analyst with a strong background in payroll taxes to ensure accurate and timely filings of quarterly and annual filings and reconciliations. The Payroll Analyst will operate as the subject matter expert on complex tax issues including managing POAs, Federal/State/Local tax account setup and maintenance, and research/resolution of tax notices. This individual will manage effective payroll vendor relationships and build relationships with finance partners. This role requires e a self-starter that can be effective in a remote work environment.

What you'll do

• Utilize UKG Pro to maintain company tax profiles
• Research, monitor and correct payroll tax exceptions, upload tax notices received, and track tax notice cases to ensure proper resolution
• Manage Power of Attorney forms in UKG Pro
• Maintain SIT & SUI & Local tax account information such as account numbers, online logins & passwords, SUI rates, new tax applications, etc.,
• Follow up on tax notices received for acquisitions and complete the necessary steps to close inactive tax accounts.
• Ability to solve complex multi-state payroll tax issues
• Reconcile tax amounts withheld, reported, and deposited on a quarterly and annual basis for assigned legal entities
• Assist with various projects as assigned

Skills you'll need

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field preferred
• Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations
• Ability to negotiate positive resolutions with payroll tax agencies
• Outstanding organizational ability: including multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize
• Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and relentless follow through
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask to meet multiple and competing deadlines
• 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience at a mid-sized to large company
• 5+ years of global payroll experience
• Experience completing payroll tax quarterly and annual reconciliations
• UKG Pro and Dimensions experience is a plus
• Reliable internet connection, must meet a minimum of 50 mbps

You'll be working in your home office setting. We hold virtual training sessions and weekly team meeting. Occasional offsite team meetings in your region or our HQ locations. Requires frequent, repetitive use of a computer, phone, and office equipment. Requires patient, professional communication with prospective clients, and the ability to build confidence with prospects.

Compensation

• $75000 - $95000 / year
