Principal Responsibilities:

· Responsible for bi-weekly payroll by entering, maintaining, and processing information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions and or information.

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires and terminations.
  • Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.
  • Partners with HR department and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger on a bi-weekly basis, 941’s on a quarterly basis, and 940, ACA 1095, and W2s on an annual basis.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Reconciles all benefit invoices for accuracy on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for accurate monthly payments of all company benefits and COBRA administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll with ADP
  • Experience with payroll tax and accounting and analyzing processes and access controls, planning improvements, driving change, and managing priorities
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of payroll

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficient with payroll systems, preferably ADP
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient at MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Able to work in a general office environment.
