Since 1947, Patten (Mustang Survival's sister company, under the Wing Group) has been instrumental in manufacturing inflatable life rafts. Predominantly focused on military manufacturing and government contracts, Patten produces cutting edge inflatable lifesaving equipment. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


The Production Laborer is responsible for performing routine, nonstop, high‐production manufacturing tasks in support of sewing, cutting, fabricating, and assembling machinery and components per drawings and other supplied information. Responsible for the start, operation, tend, stop, and cleanliness of machines and/or equipment to ensure longevity. Assembles finished product. Inspects products to ensure high quality is achieved.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all maintenance activities in a high‐production manufacturing facility.
  • Load, transport, relocate, unload, and distribute material and/or equipment as needed, either manually or by hand trucks, pallet jacks, or fort trucks.
  • Ensure all materials and auxiliary supplies are available to areas providing support.
  • Maintain shop housekeeping and cleanliness duties include sweep, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Utilize an integrated manufacturing system for seamless start‐to‐finish production processing.
  • Test and lubricate equipment and machinery for proper functionality at the beginning of a shift. Address any discrepancies or problems faced during the testing period. Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators throughout a shift to ensure a machine continues to work properly.
  • Notify the supervisor of any problem or discrepancy during shift operation.
  • Ensure that the finished product conforms to the design and merchandizing instructions.
  • Count the number of garments stitched during a shift and record this information in company‐provided logs.
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
  • Performs duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE)

  • Knowledge and related experience with operating, operation monitoring, and assembly of sewing and other related machinery including the use of hand‐power tools.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, a concern for quality control, and a strong work ethic.
  • Concentration skills to work for long periods and comfort in handling repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to manage one’s own time with the ability to work independently or as a team and a willingness to be
    flexible.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and logic to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
    instructions.
  • Ability to adjust the controls of a machine quickly and repeatedly and accurately to exact positions with control precision with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • The ability of manual dexterity to quickly move hands, hands together with arms, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, visual color discrimination, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives, and protective
eyewear should be worn. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
