Job Description:
The Patient Care Coordinator is a Full-Time, Regular position working Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4pm at our Pacific Medical Center Beacon Hill location.
This position will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID and other infectious diseases (i.e. MMR, Varicella, etc.) or qualify for a medical/religious exemption to work in a healthcare setting
Summary: Greets and welcome all patients and visitors presenting a friendly, courteous, and professional image. Checks in patients with ordered exam, checks for previous films in PACS; answers phones and ensures a smooth patient flow. Assist the radiologists and technologists to obtain the highest quality studies, and to affect the most efficient workflow in the department.

  • Provides high level of customer service and prepares patients for imaging exams:
    • Greets and welcomes all patients and visitors.
    • Answers patient and healthcare provider questions.
    • Communication prep information, obtains relevant medical history, asks pre-exam screening questions, and screens patient for contraindications or contrast risks.
    • Obtains patient blood chemistry results prior to exams as required.
    • Escorts patients to and from main waiting area, sub waiting area, dressing rooms, and exam rooms.
    • Instructs patients on how to change clothing for study as required and helps the patient change clothing if needed.
    • Ensures all patients are registered and “arrived”.
    • Provides assistance to patients requiring help as needed.
    • Utilizes in-person, phone, and video interpreters as appropriate.
  • Keeps a clean work area to represent the professional image of Inland Imaging.
  • Prepares online forms and any necessary paperwork for patient exams in advance (except add-ons).
    • Utilizes EPIC to locate all relevant patient history.
    • Alerts technologists to any contraindications or incorrect orders.
  • Answers phones and assist callers.
  • Generates reports as requested by referring provider offices.
  • Burns patient exams and reports onto CD’s to be given to patients and referring provider offices.
  • Digitizes previous hard copy radiographic films to PACS system or uploads DICOM CDs to PACS system.
  • Locates and obtains previous related films for upcoming appointments.
  • Maintains clean, well-stocked exam and dressing rooms.
  • Assists technologists with patients as needed, including lifting/transferring patients to exam table, positioning patients on the table and helping patients off the table once the exam is complete.
  • Explains exams to patients.
  • Works closely with team leader and technologists to coordinate add-ons and timing of patient exams.
  • Assists scheduling department with scheduling patients, walk-in patient exams and call backs as needed.
  • May handle bodily fluids after patient is done with exams.
  • May assist technologist, nurse, or other health care providers with contrast reactions or emergency situations.
    • Recognizes symptoms of contrast reactions.
  • May monitor patients after procedures.
  • Assists with sterile procedures, including building sterile trays and cleaning sterile area prior to procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages.

  • Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department.
  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
  • Attendance is required for this position.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience: One year of medical experience desired
    • Anatomy and medical terminology preferred
    • Medical office experience preferred.
    • Understanding of procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
  • Certifications: Current CPR/BLS required
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Workday; Imagecast/Centricity; Stentor/iSite; Flowcast; Meditech; Intranet
  • Background Check:
    • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
    • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test which includes Marijuana.
