POSITION DETAILS
Department: Patient Financial Services
Location: Remote possible, with occassional expectations to be on-site
Typical Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Primary Shift: Shift 1
Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 (full-time, 80 hours biweekly)
Exempt: Yes

SUMMARY
The Patient Accounts Manager is responsible for managing and supervising both the ECH and EMSO Patient Accounts Billing Teams. This person acts as the facilitator for the department and the liaison between the teams and internal and external customers. This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Perform compliance audits in accordance with compliance policies and procedures.
2. Responsible for monitoring the accuracy of refunds, adjustments, transfers, claim edits and charity request, making sure that proper procedures are being followed and correct coding is being used.
3. Assist with interviews and hiring of billing staff as needed.
4. Monitors encounter tracking and acknowledgement reports to ensure all charges are submitted to the billing office for posting. Initiate and participate in all areas of the organization's compliance and continuous quality improvement processes by involvement in activities such as training sessions, department meetings, brainstorming, data collections, problem identification and resolution, and other related activities.
5. Work with finance director with coordination of processing/review of month end reports.
6. Understand and communicate bulletins from Medicare, Blue Cross, Medical Assistance, and other insurances, making sure that correct procedures are being followed.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of years of education and experience.
2. Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in billing, accounting, or revenue cycle in healthcare is required.
3. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience managing functional areas of patient billing or revenue cycle related functions preferred.

Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
