The Part-Time Maintenance Mechanic maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by ensuring preventative maintenance and repairs are performed on machine engines, motors, and building structures as required.

• Performs general maintenance duties required to maintain and repair campus buildings, structures and machines; completes work orders satisfactorily
• Repairs or replaces defective machinery and mechanical parts as needed, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manual and manufacture’s specifications
• Assists in periodic inspections of buildings and structures
• Maintains required records of hours and materials expended for each job; prepares accurate inspection records, time sheets and work orders to reflect actual work performed
• Maintains equipment parts and inventory of supplies; places orders as necessary
• Reads and comprehends technical manuals and schematics or other related instructional materials necessary to make repairs that comply with technical specifications
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of diversified experience in equipment repair and maintenance
• All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Possess a current valid Driver License with the ability to travel to any campus
• Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives and policies and procedures
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Ability to document and effectively communicate needs and irregularities
• Knowledge and ability to operate tools of the trade
• Knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting and the electrical or mechanical trades
• Ability to repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
• Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
• Ability to travel in Miami-Dade County and work on all campuses
• Ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays, perform on-call and respond to after-hour emergencies
• Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
