Overview:
Transcribe audio to help build state of the art AI-powered speech recognition models!
As a German Language Transcriber your task will be to produce highly accurate transcriptions of call-center speech combined with annotation mark-up. We will provide you with Guidelines for how to transcribe and annotate the audio. The data will be used to develop better AI-powered speech recognition for German.
This is a zero hour contract, for 6 months with opportunity to extend.

Position Summary
Transcribe audio to help build state of the art AI-powered speech recognition models!

As a German Language Transcriber your task will be to produce highly accurate transcriptions of call-center speech combined with annotation mark-up. We will provide you with Guidelines for how to transcribe and annotate the audio. The data will be used to develop better AI-powered speech recognition for German.

Responsibilities
Ability to accurately transcribe audios in German language in accordance with the project’s set guidelines.
Requirements
- Available approximately 20-30 hours per week
- Stable internet connection
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to review examples and apply rules to data
- Familiarity with spelling conventions in German language
- Native/bilingual/near-native knowledge of German language
- Comfortable/familiar with accented varieties of German is a plus
- Good reading comprehension skills in English
- Prior experience with transcription beneficial but not compulsory
- Successful completion of our qualification process:
- Assess the accuracy of your spelling: You will need to pass the German language certification quiz with a score of at least 85%. You have 2 attempts to pass the Quiz.
- Typing Speed Assessment: You will need to complete a typing speed assessment and complete a survey with your results. We are looking for transcribers with a typing speed of approximately 40 words per minute or higher with 85% accuracy.
