Customer Service Specialist - Job Overview - Part time role

  • Start Date: 16th January 2023
  • Salary: £9.50 per hour
  • Location: Remote working from home
  • Flexible working - you can choose to work either 15.5 or 22.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts: 15.5hrs
    2 x 4.00hr shifts Mon - Fri
    1 x 7.5hr shift (Sat or Sun)
  • 22.5hrs
    3 x 5hr shifts Mon – Fri
    1 x 7.5hr shift Sat or Sun
  • Training Duration: 8 days - Week 1 Mon – Fri 5pm – 11pm & Sun 9am – 5.30pm Week 2 Mon & Tues 5pm – 11pm
  • Contract: Permanent, those with a Temporary Student visa are not eligible.

Skills needed to be a Customer Service Specialist

We are looking for the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to show attention to detail
  • Ability to establish collaborative customer relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good attitude and the ability to interact with lots of different people.
  • Professional and friendly telephone manner
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment to a high standard.
  • PC skills, and the ability to navigate multiple systems competently, with ease.
  • A good consistent typing speed

Day to day responsibilities of the Customer Service Specialist

  • In this role you will be working as part of our Bureau Shared Services team, who specialise in handling calls across a range of client solutions and contingency services
  • You will provide excellent customer service when assisting with a variety of customer enquiries, this is an inbound role and you will be the first point of contact for people looking for positive and effective solutions.
  • We’re looking for people with a customer-focused attitude, active listening, effective questioning skills, and the ability to form strong product knowledge.
  • Initially this role will involve working on behalf of a leading energy provider taking calls from Pre Payment meter customers that are cut- off from supply for gas or electric. Examples of this would be that their meter is faulty, their key isn’t working to top up the meter or that they have run of credit and have no money to top up.
  • As an advisor you would support the customer to try and get them back on supply and if an engineer is required to resolve their meter issue making an outbound call to the engineers to book an appointment for them to visit the property to resolve the meter issue.
