Job Title: Assistant Director of Mountain Challenge (Part-time 520 hours per year)

Department: Mountain Challenge

Reports To: HSOS Division Chair and VP and Dean of the College

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Code: F-3

Summary: Assists with the operation of the Mountain Challenge and Fit.Green.Happy. Programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.

Help select, train, and evaluate all College staff and student workers for Mountain Challenge.

Asist Director with the design of programs and ensure safety of all facilitators and participants.

Assist Director to prepare, administer, and monitor departmental budgets.

Create, plan, implement Fit.Green.Happy. programs for faculty, staff and students. Assist with other campus wellness/fitness initiatives for staff, faculty, and students.

Assist Director with student initiatives for environmental sustainability.

Assist with Great Beginnings and Orientation.

HIPAA designated employee with responsibility to administer and handle the Personal Health Information of College employees and their dependents in a confidential manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Promote student success and retention at every opportunity.

Ability to work well with others.

Regular attendance is required.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

First Responder Certification required.

Valid Tennessee Drivers License required.

Director must possess a high level of physical fitness with the ability to cover six continuous miles via human power. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
