URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a talented Part-Time Accounting/Payroll Clerk who loves details and is up to the challenge to assist our Payroll Administrator with creating reports, auditing employee hours, and to be the back-up for payroll tasks for URM Stores, Inc!

Reporting into Human Resources, this position has unique flexibility, with the lucky employee choosing their 20-24 hours per week schedule! Set your ideal schedule to meet your work-life balance, the only requirements are:

1) That the approved schedule is consistent,

2) Your schedule is during our core business hours, which are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:30 pm

3) This position requires a 100% on-site presence, no remote work will be allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various Union employee reports by compiling summaries of earnings and hours worked pulled from the HR Payroll System, Paylocity.
  • Assist with URM’s Union pensions monthly payments meeting all deadlines
  • Conduct and assist with internal audits.
  • Assist with employee’s or organization’s inquiries payroll issues.
  • Prepare various reports using Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas.
  • Provide some backup vacation coverage for Payroll Administrator
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-years of bookkeeping, general accounting, auditing, payroll experience or similar type of proven responsibilities.
  • The position requires a working knowledge & proficient experience with Microsoft Excel, formulas, totaling between worksheets, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based HR/Payroll systems will help you succeed in this role, but we can train you as long as you are able to grasp technology programs!
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to professionally interact with all vendors and employees.
  • Ability to take the initiative on tasks, prioritize multiple competing assignments and proven ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work discretely with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Positive attitude: willingness and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results.
  • Regular Attendance required.
  • Previous payroll processing experience is a bonus!
  • General HR or Payroll experience is a plus!
