The Wausau School District is seeking a Health Paraprofessional to provide health care for elementary students under the direction of the school nurse according to the Wausau School District Policy and Procedure Manual in support of our District's mission to advance student learning, achievement, and success.

The position is full-time and qualifies for health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short term and long term disability, paid sick leave, personal leave, and retirement through the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Education/Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two year's experience as a nurse's aide, or other related experience required.

Licensing/Certification:
- Requires certification in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED, or the willingness/ability to obtain.
- CNA certification desired.
- Requires a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel between schools within the District.

Performance Requirements:
- Interact in a professional and confidential manner with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, parents, and community members.
- Requires an individual who has the ability to work with illness and injury within a school setting.
- Requires physical ability to bend, lift and transfer students, and move quickly to respond to student needs/emergency situations.
- Must be dependable and self-directed.
- Well-developed computer skills.
- Perform detailed and accurate recordkeeping; i.e., log of services, medications administered, immunization records, etc.

Job Type: Full-time
