Salary Description: Minimum Salary: $22.28+ per hour
- Sign-on bonus: $10,000
- Department: Ambulance
- Schedule: Full-Time 40 hours per week
- Hospital: Ascension/St.Vincent Williamsport
- Location: Williamsport, Indiana
Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
- Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
- Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
- Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
- Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
- May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required. - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
- Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer
date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required. - One or more of the following required:
- Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
- Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.
- Instructor specializing in Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
- Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Work Experience:
- Three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services required.
- Five years of experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred.
