Varnum LLP has an opening for an experienced
Paralegal working with the
Banking/Finance and Real Estate practice teams. This full-time position includes a competitive benefit package and will be based in any of the following Michigan offices - Grand Rapids, Novi, Birmingham, Ann Arbor or Naples, Florida. Banking and finance duties will include managing the documentation process, including preparation, revisions, due diligence and closing transactions. Real Estate matters will include a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchase and sales agreements; reviewing title and legal descriptions, and involvement with condominiums. The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills with a commitment to the highest standards for client service.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working in a law firm as a banking/finance or real estate or paralegal.
- Technical expertise in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent grammar, proofreading and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attorneys, clients and staff members
- Project management skills with demonstrated initiative, working with multiple attorneys
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies or related field and/or a paralegal certification preferred
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, PDF documents, iManage or other document management system
