Packaging Associate (Tray Loader)

Position Overview:

We are looking to fill positions for Packaging Associate Tray Loaders. Under the general direction of a Packaging Lead, the Tray Loaders are responsible for performing a variety of duties including but not limited to transferring product to the packaging line, sorting, palletizing, and housekeeping. This person must be comfortable with working in a production area and standing for extended hours. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transfer product to the packaging line
• Removes any product not meeting quality standards from the line
• Applicant must be able to be on their feet for 8 - 12 hours, keep up with a fast, repetitious pace and can perform repetitious lifting
• Processing finished product through packaging machines
• Assembling boxes, packing bagged product from the packaging tables into cases and placing them on pallets
• Involved in equipment cleaning, some housekeeping responsibilities, and other duties as assigned
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed
• Watches the product while traveling through production process to ensure a high-quality product

Essential Job Functions:

• Transfer product to the packaging line
• Stack and palletize product for shipping
• Quickly sort and separate processed product
• Make boxes
• Fill boxes with bagged product
• Apply correct label in appropriate orientation

Skills | Knowledge | Abilities:

• Adept hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work for extended periods
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Maintain exception GMP and food safety

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a dusty and sticky environment
• Ability to work independently and perform repetitious task excellently
• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, and electrical hazards
• Position requires the daily ability to stand for extended periods; carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling daily. Also, requires the ability to see, hear and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
• Must frequently lift trays safely

Required Education/Experience:

• Food manufacturing experience, a plus
• High School diploma or GED
