Job Description

This position is responsible for performing various packaging functions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of goods and services to the customer in a safe and timely manner. Industrial experience with a strong safety background desired. Experience with chemical handling, raw material weighing, inventory control, and RF scanning are all a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Operates machines that perform one or more packing functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers
  • Starts machines and observes operation to detect any possible malfunction of the machine
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs to machinery
  • Inspects completed package to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Perform all operations in a safe manner to protect self and the equipment
  • Maintains packaging equipment
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after packaging process
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the area supervisor


Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of industry experience required; more than 5 years of industry experience preferred
  • Forklift experience
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling field
  • Capable standing/sitting/walking 8 to 12 hrs per day in a manufacturing environment and comfortably lifting ~30 pounds of tools, fixtures, and components
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both listening and speaking)
