SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Property Boiler Technician will perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on boilers and other equipment used to generate steam or power. Must have a boiler license. This position will be checking the on the boiler daily as well as being on-call for when any issues arise.

As a part of the on-site team, Boiler Technician will demonstrate a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and will maintain a hazard-free environment. This position reports directly to the Regional Property Manager.

COMPENSATION

This position will have a flat pay rate of $300.00 per month. Any On-Call hours will be paid at $16.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performing routine maintenance and safety inspections on boilers and other equipment used to generate steam or power
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions with controls, pumps, valves, gauges, burners, and other components of boilers and steam generators
  • Following safety protocols to inspect and clean boilers in order to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Conducting regular inspections of boilers to ensure that they are in good working order
  • Installing new boilers or repairing existing ones, as needed
  • Monitoring systems to ensure that they are operating efficiently
  • Maintaining records of boiler usage and performance levels to ensure proper functioning
  • Recording data on fuel usage, system pressure levels, and other factors that could affect safety or efficiency
  • Performing routine maintenance on boilers and other equipment used to generate steam or power
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Limited; for running errands and traveling between properties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent and technical training/experience in a building trade required.
  • Experience: 2 years or more in skilled maintenance work required. Must have Boiler License.

Physical: Frequently required to push/pull objects weighing more than 100 lbs. and lift/carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs. but less than 100 lbs. Frequently required to perform simple manipulative tasks such as using hand tools and operating maintenance machinery. Must be able to walk, stand, squat, drive, and remain in uncomfortable positions for periods of time necessary to accomplish maintenance repairs.

Sensory: Frequently required to read fine print on plans, regulatory documents, maintenance coding, and instructions. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise to answer pages, phones, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and hear and understand others using the English language.

Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with moderate interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time. Must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas several at a time and remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.

Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to seasonal conditions in outside weather. Occasional exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, toxins or poisonous materials, dust, loud noises, high humidity, and electrical or mechanical hazards.

Equipment: Frequently required to operate power tools, hand tools, lawnmower, and other garden tools, snowblower, cleaning equipment, circuit tester, paint sprayer; etc. This list is not exhaustive.
