Job Opening Summary
The incumbent in this position plans, develops and coordinates community outreach and employee volunteer activities in partnership with non-profit agencies in the community. The goal of the community outreach activities is to improve the health and well-being of the citizens in the community, particularly in underserved areas and as defined through community health assessments. Incumbent is also responsible for identifying, coordinating and organizing employee volunteer activities to contribute to staff resiliency, spirit of teamwork and social responsibility desires. These duties will be executed in a manner to support UF Health Jacksonville in achieving its mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and Community Health Needs Assessment priorities.
Job Opening Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, health education, community health, health science, health administration or psychology from an accredited institution
Required Experience:
1-2 years Community Outreach or Health Education experience with Bachelor's degree OR One (1) year of healthcare industry experience with Master's degree
Preferred Experience:
3 years or more experience in community outreach or health education
Age of Patients Served:
All Age Groups
Necessary Skills:
1. Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
2. Proven track records of sales/relationship building and/or community outreach
3. Event coordination skills
4. Computer proficiency – MS Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.) or ability to learn new software quickly
