Oracle Database Administrator Cloud Operations (On-Site)

US Citizen residing in the USA is a requirement. In-person position located in Buckhead/Atlanta, GA. Requires on-site work in a SCIF. Will require secret clearance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, maintain, and control a variety of databases in a federally secure datacenter. Primarily manage Oracle databases but also Postgres and MSSQL. The position will provide 24X7 operational support for databases which run internally developed applications. Such applications are revenue generating under stringent SLAs. The position will work closely with Application Delivery, Infrastructure- Systems and Networking and Technical Support, in support of the databases/application. In addition to operational DBA tasks, the position will work closely with the Security team for annual audits for compliance. The position is in an office and requires on-site work in a SCIF.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains the operations of a mixed Oracle database environment- single, RAC and DG instances.
  • Maintains the operations of single Postgres and MSSQL databases
  • Assist implementation team with build out and support of large ETL database environment which may contain RAC and DataGuard
  • Perform regular maintenance of the databases including backups and restores and review of logs for errors or potential problems.
  • Regularly review space capacity and perform tasks to manage space usage through archiving or increasing disk space
  • Collaborate with other operational Oracle DBAs, developers, infrastructure teams and external customers to resolve problems with application/database systems.
  • Installation, Configuration, Upgrading and Patching of databases and related products
  • Develop and implement Archiving, backup and recovery strategies
  • Ability to complete tasks and produce appropriate deliverables within project time schedules
  • Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting
  • Configuration, backup/recovery, sizing, space management, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager/ Cloud Control.
  • Designs, implements, and periodically tests the database backup and recovery procedure in conjunction with other IT staff.
  • Assists with support of SQL Server and Postgres database systems
  • Team player with excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, cross train on a large number of systems and provide knowledge transfer to other team members
  • On call schedule participation and provide 24X7 Support
  • Off hours patching support
  • Manage cases in ticketing system

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 4+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator
  • B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with Oracle ASM/GRID/RAC (12c, 19c)
  • Experience with managing multiple RDBMS on large systems, preferably high availability 24x7 environments
  • Experience installing, patching, upgrading and maintaining Oracle database
  • Experience with configuration, backup/recovery, sizing, space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control.
  • Experience planning, configuring, and replicating Oracle DataGuard, or similar Disaster Recovery solution.
  • Experience with DataPump, RMAN & restore and recoveries across various scenarios
  • Hands on experience with advanced Oracle features like partitioning, parallelized queries and other Oracle EE features.
  • Prior experience with performance analysis, performance tuning and with debugging, identifying and fixing performance issues.
  • Some experience with SQL Server 2014/2017 for performance and tuning and backup/restore
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage responsibilities as a remote employee
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environment
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organizational and follow up skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • US citizen requirement
