Job Summary and Qualifications

The Facility wide Procedure Scheduler is the direct link between the Physician offices, patients and the Hospital. 75% of the job includes using a telephone and computer simultaneously sitting at a desk. Interpersonal and telephone communications skills are essential. Accuracy is also essential, in addition to maintaining privacy for vital patient information. The Facility wide Procedure Scheduler will also function as the department wide receptionist/secretary. The Facility wide Procedure Scheduler will also cross train to enter and validate charges for patient bills, have Smart Access, Medibuy access, and x-drive access to support the billing process in the OR. In some instances, the FWPS will also support the Director using Kronos and PLUS applications.

Qualifications:

• High School Degree
• Associate Degree
• Computer Literate in Meditech/HBOC application, or similar
• Minimum of one year(1) experience in scheduling either at a hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, or Physician office.
• Wide knowledge of medical terminology
• Certifications - Computer proficiency
