General Job Description & Responsibilities

Are you interested in starting a career in Healthcare and/or in the Optometric Industry? Do you have experience taking calls or building schedules? Would you be interested in learning a new trade and expanding your skillset in a medical office setting? Become an Optical Team Member and learn all about eye-health, lense technology, and eyewear products! We are excited to train someone who is eager to learn, friendly and professtional. Primary responsibilities include:

• Answer office phone, schedule appointments, and verify vision insurance
• Check patients in and out, guide them through their visit, and take payments
• Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
• Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
• Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
• Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires
• Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety
• Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues
• Perform adjustments and repairs of eyewear
• Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits

Experience & Skills
Excellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical to this role. The ideal candidate will have:

• Good organizational and multitasking abilities
• Coachable-open to feedback and continual improvement
• Flexible and adaptable
• Professional phone and office etiquette required
• Medical clinic experience is preferred but not necessary-we will train the right person
