Operator (Limited Scope), Dupont, CO. Anticipated length of assignment: 6 months. Limited Benefits Eligibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all movements in to and out of the station or terminal, including: truck rack operations, mainline operations of pumping units, transferring product to and from storage tanks; making valve lineups, operating pumps, and product sampling and testing.
  • Participate on the facility emergency response team.
  • Assist technicians with maintenance duties and perform general maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices.
  • Works diligently and follows all safety requirements to prevent product contamination, spills, and avoid product loss.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety training meetings.
  • Coordinate and perform Operation activities as prescribed in System Integrity Plan (SIP) Elements:
  • Respond to after-hour calls as expected during scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Assist in maintaining inspections, licensing and maintenance of vehicles and equipment in the Vehicle and Driver training programs.
  • Maintain all documentation, permits, and other work records in an organized manner for the required retention time.
  • Participate on the facility emergency response team, providing support in applicable Incident Command structures.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety training meetings.
  • Assist Operations with general maintenance duties, including line pigging, as directed by the supervisor. This location will require this individual to be trained and qualified to provide relief for location Operators. These additional duties include, Monitor all movements in to and out of the station or terminal, including: truck rack operations, rail rack loading/unloading operations - including moving rail cars, mainline operations of pumping units, transferring product to and from storage tanks; making valve lineups, operating pumps, and product sampling and testing
  • General housekeeping duties including pressure washing, picking up trash, changing light bulbs using a ladder, painting (including safety painting) and sweeping.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Drivers license with a good driving record to drive Company vehicle
  • Ability to participate in Emergency Response with an understanding of the Incident Command System
  • A college degree or two-year degree from an accredited vocational/technical school is desired but not required, with three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a knowledge of refined product characteristics, measurement and safe handling practices.
  • Demonstrated competency in all aspects of operations required after 120 days of hire.

The position will be filled at a level commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications.

Base hourly pay rate is $29.80/hour. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications.

Working Conditions: Driving Company vehicles to perform duties.

Physical demands include: constantly (2/3 or more of time) hearing, seeing (acuity, near, far, and depth); frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of time) talking; and occasionally (up to 1/3 of time) sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and wearing personal protective equipment. Environmental conditions include frequently working outside and inside; occasional exposure to extreme heat and/or cold hazards as well as petrochemical hazards. Must be able to access work at heights and must be able to regularly climb petroleum storage tank of 60 ft in height, 90 steps, without intermediate platforms or landings while carrying 25 lbs.

Additional requirements: Regular attendance; the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co- workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows(R) operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company's intranet; availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis; and the ability to work at the assigned job site.
