About the role
As an Operator within our dedicated team at Blythswood, you’ll play a pivotal role in the whisky and rum supply process and will oversee and control the safe movement of spirit within an established set of process procedures.
You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks on site, from the loading and offloading of pallets of casks, disgorging, filling, and the safe storing of casks (barrels) of new make spirit. This role also involves various responsibilities within the rum pallet plant, making this operator role a truly unique opportunity to explore other elements of the business out with the whisky process!
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to manually handle the casks and operate our forklifts on site; therefore, any forklift qualifications would be desirable (but are not essential to this role).
Although there is a manual element to this role, there is also a technical side with plenty of opportunity to drive improvements across site. As a result, we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate great communication skills, can seek personal improvement opportunities and utilise all training and support to truly become the best at what they do!
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Health and Safety, and actively look to promote better ways of working across site through the implementation of improvement projects with the support of the direct line manager.
As Health and safety compliance is key, and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other key performance indicators and targets including production quality and HMRC compliance.

Shifts
Your rota on our core shift pattern consists of 7:00am
– 15.45
pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am
- 1
2:00pm on a Friday.
