Primary responsibilities include providing consistent high-quality coordination and execution of internal and external events at Simpson University. Excellent communication and customer service skills as well as good organizational skills are important characteristics for someone filling this position.


Qualifications:


  • Associates degree
  • At least five years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, students, customers, vendors and management
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Highly professional in integrity and demeanor
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and well-organized

Essential Functions:


  • Assist the Director of Operations in carrying out the responsibilities of successful management of events, safety, physical plant and the mailroom.
  • Recruit external contractors for events and physical plant projects.
  • Develop and coordinate all aspects of the successful execution of events and physical plant projects on campus.
  • Responsible for coordinating with other University departments/personnel for successful execution of events. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of all aspects of pre-event planning, event execution, post-event follow-up, etc.
  • Manage all Chapel setups and teardowns twice a week during the academic year.
  • Assist in recruiting, selecting and supervising student staff.
  • Develop and manage the budget for revenue and expenses.
  • Demonstrate good fiscal management skills in the performance of job duties.
  • Support the execution of internal events in the use of facilities and related systems (sound, seating, tables, etc.) portion of routine and special campus events.
