The Operating Room Scheduler is the initial point of contact for all calls coming into the Operating Room (OR) and serves as the main Triage point of contact for the OR. The OR Scheduler channels all incoming and outgoing communications for the OR and schedules all surgical procedures including some procedures that occur outside of the OR such as the Cath lab, in adherence to selecting correct procedure/pick lists. This position requires knowledge in medical terminology/clinical language to ensure accuracy for the patient's surgery.

This position requires knowledge in medical terminology/clinical language to ensure accuracy for the patient's surgery.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma of equivalent
- 6 months experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
- Professional phone etiquette, computer/data entry and keyboard skills required
- Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with a fluctuating work volume
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, managers, and other staff in a professional manner
- 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
- Surgical Scheduling and/or Health Unit Coordinator experience
- Pervious work experience with Epic OpTime
- Familiarity with the OR Environment
- General knowledge of CPT & diagnosis codes, which are entered for every case schedule in the OR
- Familiarity with EPIC scheduling systems
