Position and Salary

The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full time Office Support Supervisor 2 in the Social and Health Services Section. This position is located in Tacoma, Washington, and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).

Office Support Supervisor 2 (Range 40) salary range: $38,952 - $51,888
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If a position is designated as requiring dual language skills, incumbents will also receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.

Division Information

The Tacoma Division is comprised of 37 attorneys and 42 professional staff. The division is the “face of the AGO” in communities in Pierce and Kitsap counties. This division provides a wide variety of legal services for a number of different client agencies, including the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF); Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS); Department of Labor & Industries (L&I); Employment Security Department (ESD); and Department of Licensing (DOL). Employees in the Tacoma office also handle tort matters on behalf of various state agencies.

Duties

What does an Office Support Supervisor 2 do?

The Social and Health Services Records Section is looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to join our team as an Office Support Supervisor 2 (OSS2). This position provides office support services and is not eligible for scheduled, recurring telework. If you enjoy working with a variety of individuals, supporting and mentoring others in developing professional skills, this may be the job for you!

The OSS2 oversees the work of four full-time Legal Office Assistants, ensuring accurate and high quality work product. As the OSS2, you will work closely with the Administrative Operations Manager to provide administrative support in the Tacoma Office. This position is responsible for training new Records staff services in the Tacoma Office.

Office Support Supervisors perform a variety of tasks ranging from basic administrative functions to technical legal work. They provide general and complex support functions that may include:


  • Handling and processing financial documentation
  • Filing documents in accordance with legal requirements
  • Performing accurate data entry into various databases
  • Developing monthly reports
  • Handling legal and confidential documents

Qualifications

High School Graduation or equivalent and three years of clerical experience including one year of supervisory experience.

Conditions of Employment

Per AGO Policy, employees and volunteers of the AGO must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Effective March 14, 2022, the AGO announced pursuant to its policy, that employees and volunteers must also receive a booster shot as a condition of employment. Employees or volunteers who are not eligible to receive the booster before their start date, due to required waiting times after receiving their initial vaccine(s), must provide confirmation of the vaccine type and date received so the AGO can calculate the date by which they must receive the booster. If you are selected to serve within the AGO as an employee or volunteer, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination and booster (if already received) before you are able to begin work. You may request an accommodation if you are unable to meet the requirement due to a medical or religious necessity.
