Location: Safer London Office
Reports to: EA to the CEO
Contract: Permanent subject to funding
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, to be worked Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:00 (with an hour lunch break)
Salary: £27,445

About the role

The post holder will be responsible for the smooth running of the Safer London central office and for supporting employees working from their homes to do so safely and effectively as appropriate. This includes playing a central role in ensuring that the organisation meets its health and safety obligations both in the office and for employees working from their homes.

Core responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Opening the office daily at 9:00 am and closing it at 5:00 pm Mondays to Fridays and on occasion also opening the office at weekends and evenings (this will be arranged well in advance where needed).
  • Liaising with the landlord around any building issues – for example reporting repairs needed, liaising with contractors as necessary and generally keeping the relationship running smoothly.
  • Overseeing 3rd party suppliers for cleaning, printing and office supplies and maintaining an overview of the stationery budget.
  • Maintaining stationery supplies and where necessary ordering additional items such as special furniture for office or home workers.
  • Keeping the office safe and tidy for optimal use by the wider team, which will include making routine inspections of e.g. health & safety arrangements and cleaning.
  • Managing the mail and deliveries.
  • Preparing meeting rooms and supporting events taking place at the Safer London office as needed.
  • Managing the distribution, storage and collection of all IT and phone equipment in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Leading on aspects of Safer London’s staff induction for new starters including familiarising them with the office and relevant processes.
  • Supporting the organisation to be health and safety compliant both in the office and for remote workers – suitable training will be provided.
