As the Palliative Care Business Office Coordinator in our Eugene Office you will provide scheduling and registration services for providers, as well as patients needing services, procedures, tests and appointments. This position will ensure appropriate reimbursement for services. As The Palliative Care Business Office Coordinator you will also provide outstanding customer service and satisfaction to ensure all patients feel welcome.


Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

On an Average Day you will:

  • Demonstrate professional and customer service focused behavior, including manner of communication, responsibility, and appearance
  • Answer high volume and incoming calls promptly, courteously, and in a caring friendly manner, ensuring outstanding customer service
  • Convey messages, coordinate provider, patient schedules and related information to others as appropriate, to maintain effective working relationships in the delivery of patient care
  • Greet all phone callers courteously and respectfully
  • Register patients, obtain copy of insurance - front and back, instruct patients on filling out patient registration forms, verify insurance information and communicate financial policies
  • Accurately, appropriately and efficiently schedule appointments, tests, procedures and other services
  • Maintain patient files, records and other information; file all incoming patient record documents

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have two (2) years of experience in a physician office setting
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must possess experience in medical record maintenance and front office record-keeping
  • Must possess experience in front-end billing operations and cash management
  • Must possess experience with insurance authorization and issuance of referrals


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must demonstrate a willingness to work a flexible schedule


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must comply with company policies, procedures, and processes in addition to Hospice rules and regulations as they pertain to palliative care
  • Must be dependable and flexible in work schedule
  • Must comply with harassment and discrimination policies
  • Must foster good working relationships
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • Must be a licensed driver with licensed automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working order
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter
  • Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time with or without notice by automobile and plane


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to read and follow instructions as required
  • Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and viewing computer screens
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Must be able to hear and see with or without aid
  • Will be subject to enclosed spaces such as airplanes
  • May be subject to adverse weather conditions
  • May be required to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
  • Must be willing to participate in a drug/alcohol screen prior to hire, if involved in a work related automobile accident and if reasonable suspicion is reported
