HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures; of basic principles and practices of customer service. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate standard office equipment including a personal computer and related software such as Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Teams), Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal and public relations skills necessary. Able to be flexible and adapt to meeting the department’s needs. Demonstrate positive work culture and teamwork. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

WHAT YOU DO AND HOW YOU DO IT:
The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is seeking a part-time Office Assistant who will be responsible for providing administrative services supporting the mission of the department on the Document Management team. This position work as a team and involves performing general clerical duties to support the department’s administrative functions such as inputs, maintains, and tracks data using electronic spreadsheets; receives, time stamps, sorts, and distributes mail and other materials. Reviews reports, records, applications and other forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures. Assists with ordering and maintaining office supplies. Other duties as assigned to support the department. Perform other work as required.

Shift

Monday - Friday; 24 hours per week between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
