Ocosta School District is now accepting applications for a Jr/Sr HS Art/CTE Teacher. The position is 1 FTE for the 2023/24 school year. Ocosta is interested in candidates who are committed to students and to a continuing program of personal and professional growth. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the classroom instructor must work closely with other staff and administration.

• Plan and implement effective lessons, using time, materials and resources effectively.
• Effectively communicate students’ progress to student, parent and others as appropriate.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to improve student behavior and success, if necessary.

• Display a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.

• Set high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with others.
• Establish and maintain a positive climate for learning through appropriate classroom management.
• Attend and assist when necessary with school events such as musical programs, athletics, student recognition ceremonies, graduation and open house.
• Observe district policies and procedures.
• Ensure all activities conform to district guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with members of the district and community.
• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
• Promote participation and involvement in educational activities.
• Support the value of education.
