Responsibilities:
The Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) is responsible for the implementation of Occupational Therapy services in a manner that is client-centered and interactive. The OTR will lead inpatient groups with an OT focus
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide individual patient assessments as ordered by a physician
- Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Standards of Practice and the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics, as well as facility policies and procedures
- Responsible to provide supervision as needed for Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Level I and II Occupational Therapy students.
- Requires graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, certified as an Occupational Therapist and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Registered in the State of Minnesota.
- Level II fieldwork experience in psycho-social OT is strongly preferred for newly graduated candidates.
- Receives job training by completion of ongoing in-services and orientation programs as well as attendance of off-site continuing education programs as approved by management
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
- Is oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care.
- Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
- Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
- Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
- After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients
