Seal Rock Healthcare is a fully-licensed Medicaid/Medicare-certified facility offering 105 beds — including 53 private rooms in total — for skilled and extended stays. POSITION SUMMARY:
Each resident must receive the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care. First Atlantic employees are dedicated to life enhancement and betterment by committing to improving human condition through healing and reducing pain. The Nursing Staff Coordinator carries out designated assignments to ensure the facility is staffed to meet the needs of the residents and that adequate nursing supplies are on hand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Generating, updating, and managing the nursing master schedule and assignment sheets according to facility needs while making adjustments as necessary for budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call outs, vacation requests, and pre-planned leaves of absence.
  • Assists with obtaining coverage for gaps in the schedule.
  • Reviewing requests for planned time off with the Director of Residential Services; including but not limited to vacation, maternity leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and unpaid leaves of absence to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or late arrivals or early departures.
  • Communicating with Unit Coordinators, Nurse Managers, and the Director of Residential Services regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.
  • Checking time clock punch records against daily/master schedules and noting the appropriate changes.
  • Inputting corrections from filled out forms for events such as missing meal periods or missed punches.
  • Approving shifts with staffing agency employees working within the facility.
  • Preparing weekend on call calendars for employees who participate in the on call rotation.
  • Reviews nursing staff agency invoices with schedules for accuracy and preparing GL codes before submitting to accounts payable.
  • Collecting and completion of appropriate paperwork for new employees as designated by First Atlantic policies.
  • Manage Healthcare Source account with open positions, setting up interviews, conducting reference checks, interviewing and hiring appropriately.
  • Sets up new-hires in electronic healthcare record system(s).
  • Compile and track employee certifications; set up for various trainings.
  • Develop and oversee the training calendar.
  • Orders in-house medical supplies; maintains appropriate inventory and reports on inventory as requested.
  • Orders diabetic supplies and incontinent products.
  • Assists with the flu-clinic as needed.
  • Completes light housekeeping time studies and submits as requested
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with peers and Residents and works collaboratively with all departments.
  • Ability to remain pleasant, cheerful, tactful, and courteous at all times.
  • Is dependable and demonstrates ability to follow the attendance policy.
  • Welcomes and assists in the orientation of all new employees.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy resident environment by following established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to all First Atlantic professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Ability to cooperate with other personnel and to resolve interpersonal conflicts with minimal assistance.
  • Must maintain information as confidential material per HIPAA.
  • Willingness to accept suggestions and supervision from supervisor.
  • Respectful of facility property and equipment.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of various computer programs, including Word and Excel required. Experience with Attendance on Demand and Healthcare Source preferred.
