JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the RN and Nurse Manager, the Same Day Surgery Nursing Assistant is responsible for direct patient care as well as adjunctive tasks that may be required to ensure total patient care. The Same Day Surgery Nursing Assistant provides services to the following population: child (birth to 12 years), adolescent (13-17 years), adult (18-64 years), older adult (65 years and above).

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY:

• At least 6 months recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.

PREFERRED

• Certification of completion of a Nursing Assistant course.
• Proficient in EKG's.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift and move patients.
• Able to be on feet for long periods of time, stooping and bending.
• Must have dexterity, coordination, visual and auditory acuity necessary for all nursing procedures.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $22.42
