As an in-home Caregiver with FirstLight Home Care of Asheville you will help build meaningful relationships and improve the quality of life for our clients, their families, and our caregivers. This role offers the opportunity for full-time and potential overtime based on availability. Also, all Caregivers will foster growth within the team and become a dedicated backup for the scheduling department.

Your role will be as a Caregiver assisting clients in their homes or AL/IL setting.

Responsibilities
  • Be a scheduled caregiver during set hours and some weekends as needed for the overall operations of the agency.
  • Ability and desire to accept additional assignments.
  • Mentoring and training other caregivers.
  • Work closely with our Nurses and assist them with Client care needs.
  • Companionship and conversation.
  • Preparing and serving meals.
  • Help with grooming, bathing, and other personal care needs (ADL)
  • Light housekeeping and errands
  • Providing a safe and comfortable environment so individuals can live at home longer

Sign-On Bonus

All new caregivers are approved to receive a $500.00 sign-on bonus following successful completion of 480 hours of work. This equates to 40 hours of work, per week, for three months. The sign-on bonus will be paid out in the following manner:

i. $250.00 at the completion of the employees’ first 30 days (date to be measured 30 days from date of first completed shift, NOT orientation)

ii. $125 at the completion of the employees’ first 60 days

iii. $125 following successful completion of the employees’ 90-day evaluation

This bonus will be paid congruent to normal weekly payroll and will be taxed accordingly. At no time will this bonus take the place of or further remand any additional fringe financial or physical benefits.
