Job description
The Nurse Coordinator/Educator for the HTC at Nemours is a Registered Nurse with responsibilities for the overall coordination and education of pediatric patients with bleeding and clotting disorders within the Hemophilia Treatment Center. Nurse Coordinator/Educator roles will include the following:
Qualifications:
- Patient education (in clinic, by phone, via newsletter, and in outreach)
- Assist with triage of parent/patient phone calls
- Coordinate surgical plans with the surgical team, arrange admissions.
- Coordinate home care needs (factor products, home nursing) with social work and insurance
- Coordinate with schools as needed
- For the CDC/ATHN registry, population profile, and other studies: Patient consent, data entry, lab coordination.
- Coordination of patients for Hemophilia Clinic
- Coordination with the adult hemophilia team at Christiana and assist with creation of annual report
- Coordination with adolescent medicine/gynecology for care and scheduling of patients for the future Adolescent Hematology Clinic
- Facilitate and follow-up of lab evaluations
Qualifications:
- Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure Required
- National certification in Professional Development and/or nursing specialty certification relevant to patient population
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
- BSN required
