Job Summary and Qualifications

Supervises the technical operation of the Nuclear Medicine section of Medical Imaging. Communicates, coordinates, delegates, and assigns the daily activities of the Nuclear Medicine Department. Reports directly to the Radiology Director. Maintains technical proficiency and expertise in areas of responsibility. Supervises patient flow and staffing. Provides testing for patients with many different clinical conditions and all age ranges. Maintains current procedural protocols, computer files, equipment maintenance program and quality control data. Ensures facility technical and documentation expectations are consistent with JCAHO and meets Regulatory requirements in accordance with the State of Colorado Rules and Regulations. Ensures that the section meets regulatory requirements. Works independently land proceeds on own initiative in compliance with departmental guidelines and practices. Must be willing to enter call rotation, to include weekend and holidays.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current certification by ARRT and/or N.M.T.C.B./Current BLS through AHA or ARC
  • Graduate of 24-month AMA approved school, maintains current certification.
  • 5 years of nuclear medicine experience preferred. Three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure. Must function independently and making appropriate decisions. High degree of manual skills and dexterity necessary to assist in emergency situation, operate equipment, position patients, prepare medications and assist patients and physicians.
  • Equipment Operations:
    • Brightview
    • Cardio MD
    • Critical Results Reporting
    • National Patient Safety Goals

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
