Hotel Becket, located at South Lake Tahoe, is in search of a part-time Night Auditor for our overnight Front Desk team!
This important overnight position helps support our guests, hotel security, and some important functions in our reservations system. Our ideal candidate is hard-working, friendly, and detail oriented and will efficiently operate all functions of the front desk to include financial reporting and distribution, check-in, check out, cash handling, problem solving and assisting in emergency response functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To deliver Hotel standards to every guest.
  • To follow all Company rules, regulations, and codes set forth in the handbook.
  • To uphold the Company’s core values and always provide prompt guest service.
  • To be neat and well-groomed in appearance.
  • To be responsible for the smooth check in and check out of guests.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with document retention and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.
  • Audit statistical, financial and accounting reports and tables. Audit and reconcile all revenue posting.
  • To make sure that all cash handling, financial recording keeping and reporting procedures are followed with emphasis on guest privacy, accuracy, and proper handling of sensitive material.
  • Take ownership of guest needs. Handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved to satisfaction.
  • To demonstrate multi-tasking, maintain a positive and professional demeanor while on duty.
  • To ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
  • To embrace the comprehensive safety initiatives and all hotel standards.
  • To follow all emergency procedures set by Hotel.
  • To attend and participate in ongoing training as assigned.
  • To work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, in the spirit of “Teamwork.”
  • To understand the rules and code of conduct of the Company and its progressive discipline guidelines in order to maintain Hotel standards.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays as necessary for the success of the hotel.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual as scheduled.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Education and Experience: Previous experience with hotel front desk or night audit highly preferred. Good computer skills and thorough understanding of accounting systems are required.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts as required using property management system software.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, compute, and follow all night audit procedures as trained.
  • General Qualities: Must work well under pressure and confident in decision making abilities.
  • Equipment/Machinery/Tools: Fax machine, copier, personal computer, network computer system and all relevant and required computer hardware, software, PBX systems, telephones, and calculator.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of day. Estimate 70% of time is spent sitting and 30% on feet.
  • Have infrequent need to perform the following physical activities: bend/stoop/squat, climb stairs, push or pull, reach above shoulders.
  • Have need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property or guest rooms if needed.
  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: writing/typing, grasping/turning, finger dexterity.
  • Lifting/carrying less than 10 pounds frequently.
  • Vision requirements: constant need to view computer screen, read and compile audit reports and complete forms. Constant need to see small detail.
  • Hearing requirements: constant need to communicate over telephone and in person.
