ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL MT HOPE HIGH SCHOOLGENERAL DESCRIPTIONAs an instructional leader the associate principal will work in concert with the principal to communicate the instructional vision and school improvement plan, improving instructional practice, student achievement and creating a community of continuous learning for all faculty, staff and students. The associate principal will assist in building strong partnerships with families and the community, creating a safe, supportive climate, and effectively managing operational and technical priorities to ensure instructional progress and school management.QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degreeValid R.I. certification as a secondary administratorValid teacher certificationMinimum of five years' successful teaching experienceSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptableDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 2-3 years of instructional leadership or administrative experience Strong knowledge of secondary regulations and best instructional practiceREPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: To participate as an active member of a high functioning administrative team, committed to strengthening instructional practices and improving student achievement.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides leadership and supervision necessary for the continuous improvement of the educational program at the secondary levelProvides leadership in curriculum, instruction and assessment for all grade levels and contentsProvides leadership and support to the College and Career Coordinator and our CTE programsUtilizes school wide, student achievement data to drive instructional improvementsFacilitates faculty meetings and building leadership meetings as neededKeeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the fieldAssists with the master schedule and the scheduling processAssists with personnel managementPerforms teacher evaluationsWorks with the building leadership team/department chairs in the development of annual budget requests Serves with parents, faculty and student groups as requested for the purpose of advancing educational objectives and student successWorks in concert with the principal in development of professional development, aligned to school priorities and school improvement plan, for all faculty and staffPerforms such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time assignPositive, self-assured individual Attends and supports the supervision of after school, student activities such as dances, concerts, plays, and athletic functions as neededResponsible for keeping abreast of new developments concerned with evaluating and updating, when necessary, procedures and practices with Administration approval. Attendance is an essential function of all BWRSD positions.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month position.
