Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated experienced Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join the team. This is a full time, day shift position serving patients at Inova Loudoun Hospital (44045 Riverside Pkwy., Leesburg, VA).

Work schedule: 8:30a – 5p. M, W, F at Inova Loudoun Hospital & T, Th at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital (temporary). Once full-staffed, call every other weekend 8a – 12p covering STAT and discharge pending EEGs. No evening call at this time.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules appointments, greets patients/families and provides testing instructions.
  • Assists in monitoring quality improvement and the development/revision of neurodiagnostic procedures and standards while serving as a role model/resource to other Neurodiagnostic Technologists.
  • Performs complex electroencephalography (EEG) recordings including routine and/or portable EEG, neonatal EEG, cortical silence EEG and continuous bedside EEG monitoring by utilizing knowledge of EEG instrumentation and pattern recognition.
  • Positions patients/provides patients comfort by measuring and accurately applying electrodes in a timely manner according to the International 10–20 System.
  • Performs 24 hour Ambulatory EEG including editing of results by utilizing special training and resultant expertise in the recognition of ictal and inter-ictal electrographic patterns.
  • Writes a comprehensive patient history by gathering appropriate information from patients, patients' records and/or family members to include audiological or neurological symptomatology and medications.
  • Performs Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potential studies by utilizing knowledge of audiologic instrumentation and pattern recognition as well as Visual Evoked Potential studies.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of patients at all times while identifying and seeking appropriate assistance for any emergency events.

Requirements:

  • Work schedule: 8:30a – 5p. M, W, F at Inova Loudoun Hospital & T, Th at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital (temporary). Once full-staffed, call every other weekend 8a – 12p covering STAT and discharge pending EEGs. No evening call at this time.
  • Education: High school degree or GED; Graduate from an accredited program for Electroneurodiagnostic Technology. Associates or Bachelor of Science degree desired.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Neurodiagnostic or Neurophysiological field in an inpatient or office setting. Experience performing advanced EEG/evoked potential studies.
  • Certification: BLS by the AHA for all ages. CPR for all age groups required. Eligible for/or successful completion of Part II (oral) examination for registration by ABRET (EEG and/or Evoked Potential) or completion of examination by an equivalent examination body.
