Job description
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Designs, installs and administers the physical components of the company's LANs and WANs.
Assists in managing the PC/LAN servers and shared network devices.
Provides expertise and support for maintenance of IT equipment, backup and recovery procedures, user applications and coordination with software and hardware vendors.
Recommends and administers network security through operating system controls, and physical routing and filtering devices.
Adheres to industry best practices and recommends standards for IT to follow.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Quality of work products as evaluated by IT leadership and internal clients.

Understanding and correctly utilizing IT tools and procedures to ensure the security of the system at all times.

Effectively administers and maintains organizational infrastructure, including network connectivity, internet access, email, etc.

To proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.
5.
To effectively support all project work with sound, consistent and reliable engineering that enables internal projects but also adheres to the standards and architecture of the desired network.
6.
Feedback from project teams on the quality of engineering support provided by IT.

Taking ownership of technology issues and working them to solution with clear communication throughout the process.
8.
Skills advancement of the engineering team and junior IT team members.
9.
Up-to-date system documentation and job aids for routine tasks performed by the engineering team.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three or more years of IT networking experience with focus on day-to-day operations, network security and architecture.
Education
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) or equivalent technical training/experience
Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with other inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills
1. Extensive experience in supporting mainframe and PC/LAN hardware, software and communication products.
2. Experience working in a VM environment.
3. Experience with Windows Servers, Windows NT, mainframe and/or PC system administration, LANs, TCP/IP, telecommunications and WANs.
4. Working knowledge of Fortinet equipment and SD-WAN architecture.
5. Ability to work independently in trouble-shooting problems and researching capabilities of current or proposed products.
6. Understanding of industry standards regarding system and network security, backup and recovery.
7. Ability to communicate professionally with other IT personnel, vendor support staff and users.
8. Database experience with DB2, SQL and Access.
9. Must be able to work independently and use general office equipment.
