We are looking for a Muslim Chaplaincy Assistant to join our Chaplaincy team. The Muslim Chaplaincy Assistant will be required to provide broad based support for students and staff at the University. The post holder is expected to work as part of the multi-faith chaplaincy team at the university, and will report to the Muslim Chaplain.

This role comes in response particularly to the needs of the Muslim population amongst the student body. The post holder, while sharing in responsibilities across the chaplaincy programme and offering services to staff and students of all faiths and none, will have a particular responsibility for Muslim students and will need particular understanding of the issues and needs of a variety of Muslims. The Muslim community is diverse, and the post holder will be expected to offer to students and staff of all traditions within Islam.

The post holder will provide support for the Muslim community under the direction of the Muslim Chaplain, supporting the development and delivery of a programme of worship and other activities tailored for Muslims. They will develop and inspire student and staff understanding and awareness of faith practice. There will be a substantial amount of practical work, which entails the up-keep of prayer rooms and spaces designated to Colleges and Chaplaincy.
