Position Summary:


The Multi Procedural Technologist is responsible for procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology specialties. Responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catherizations and other related procedures. Assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Performs all responsibilities of a Cardiovascular Technologist and Interventional Radiology Technician.


Responsibilities:


  • Inserts small catheters into the blood vessels and into the heart or other organs and structures so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the function of the structure or organ
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards
  • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity
  • Correctly scrub, monitor and circulate procedures in catheterization laboratory, Interventional radiology lab, and/or hybrid OR
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:


  • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. ARRT certification in radiography required. Or graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Invasive Technology training program required OR 2 years’ experience in related field required
  • 12 months’ prior experience as a diagnostic radiologic technologist with neuro or vascular interventional lab preferred. Or 12 Months prior experience as a cardiovascular invasive technologist preferred
  • 12 months’ combined experience working and competent to work as a technologist in both labs within a year of hire
  • Must be actively rotating and working in each laboratory specialty or procedures within a year of hire
  • Has completed initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by laboratory specialties
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Must be available to be on call for both labs, as needed, and able to arrive at the hospital within 20 minutes of a page when on call

Working Conditions:


  • Lifting requirement 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
  • Must be able to push, pull or transport heavy equipment
