The Mortgage Analyst contributes to the professional management of WoodmenLife’s invested assets which are allocated to the commercial mortgage and commercial real estate portfolios. We are looking for someone to:
  • Assists senior staff with initial underwriting of preliminary mortgage loan offerings, completing spreadsheets used in quantitative analysis for loan sizing, pricing and structuring purposes
  • Works with mortgage banking correspondents to obtain information necessary for WoodmenLife to make informed decisions and recommendations by completing initial underwriting and investment committee presentations
  • Performs research and monitoring of select commercial real estate markets and property types; reports findings to senior staff
  • Ensures all routine correspondence regarding mortgage loans and real estate properties is answered, by analyzing the inquiry, reviewing with senior staff, and communicating written and oral responses
  • Performs data entry and maintenance of accurate loan information in asset management administrative system: Precision LM
  • Assists with annual property inspection and operating reports
  • Review of third party reports for mortgage closings
  • Compiles accurate reports to meet management and rating agency requirements on both a quarterly and annual basis. Fulfills audit requests as necessary
We need someone who has:
  • BA/BS degree in business, finance or real estate
  • No direct experience required; but some experience in real estate finance helpful
  • Ability to build & maintain effective relationships with team members and external business partners
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Communicate with accuracy, clarity and professionalism.
  • Possesses a high level of thinking, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experienced working with spreadsheets, word processing, database, presentation software and general proficiency in computer literacy
  • An interest in continued learning with a commitment to ongoing educational advancement
  • Capable of independent thought with a focus on customer needs
  • Ability to learn from experiences, embrace challenges, work within a team and be open to change & growth
