We’re looking for a talented Physician Assistant to join our Mohs surgeon. The department consists of 7 dermatologists and 2 physician assistants along with a talented support staff of other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have great hand dexterity, an open and learning mind set, attention to details and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Prior surgical experience desired but not required. This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE).
The primary responsibilities of the Physician Assistant will include:

Pre-op evaluation for selected patients that may require coordination with other specialties for those with complicated medical comorbidities, addressing uncertainty about the procedure, etc.

Post-op treatment of Mohs patients including wound and scar evaluation, managing adverse outcomes such as infection, suture granuloma, hypertrophic scarring, etc.

Assist the surgeon in both minor and complex surgical cases.

Assist in primary wound closure and complex wound reconstruction including flaps and grafts.

Assist in histotech workflows.

Manage immediate post-op complications, which may require returning to the clinic after hours.
