Mill Operator |Michigan City, IN

Temporary to Hire Opportunity

Starting Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. (Negotiable based on experience)

Shift(s): First shift – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements & Skills:

· *Must have mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting to be considered*

· Pipe fitting and/or plumbing experience preferred

· Familiar with liquids, air pumps, and flow rates.

· Organized and independent thinker

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Monitoring gauges and meters to ensure that machinery is operating efficiently and safely

· Operating cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment to load, unload, or move materials

· Inspecting equipment for damage or defects and making necessary repairs

· Monitoring the amount of oil in machines to ensure that they do not overheat

· Checking inventory levels to determine if more raw material needs to be purchased

· Monitoring the amount of raw material entering the facility to ensure that it meets production quotas

· Operating electronic-based controls to manage the flow of material through a production process

Primary Duties Include:

· Operating a mill

· Ensuring production has adequate product to meet orders

· Inventory responsibilities.

· Maintain a clean and safe workspace

· Performing any needed maintenance on mill machinery

· Ability to problem solve.

This is a temp to hire position. After 90 days, and the potential candidate has proven their skill set and work ethic to the company, the candidate will have the opportunity to join our family run company. The candidate will be eligible for Health Insurance, 401K with company contribution, and vacation time and paid holidays
