WIS Merchandising Associate Job Preview


The Merchandising Associate provides support to projects for our customers in a variety of retail, grocery and warehouse environments. The Merchandising Associate performs tasks including but not limited to: reading and acting on plan-o-grams, merchandise/product relocation, cleaning and resetting of shelves/pegs, repositions/restocks new product, and replacing, cleaning or relocating shelf tags. They may occasionally work on setting new signage or displays, based on the needs of the customer and should be comfortable with following detailed instructions. This role may require teardown and installation of fixtures in renovation/remodel stores. Qualifications - External

Team Requirements

  • Merchandising, Reset or Retail experience preferred
  • Must be able to work the entire duration of project they are assigned, lengths vary
  • Ability to understand planogram terminology and identify and work with all components of a planogram in order to deliver excellence to each project
  • Set and/or reset product within the expectations of the planogram or customer expectations, ensuring excellence in the final outcome of the project
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the core values of Spirit, Pride, Integrity, Results, Innovation, and Teamwork at all times; expects and holds Regional Talent and District Managers accountable for demonstrating core values at all times
  • Safety Always! Keep floors and workspace neat and tidy, place trash and cardboard in designated area per client directive
  • Effective customer relations skills meant to deliver exceptional service and the ability to act quickly to solve concerns or challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to effectively clean all shelves, base decks, top rails, pegboard, etc. through project
  • Set shelves to proper height as indicated on the planograms
  • Re-locate planograms to new location in store per new layout
  • Install items to planogram including but not limited to, shelf fronts, product labels, label holders, product display signage, product dividers, racks, front rails, pegs, peg clips, etc.
  • Ensure all labels are verified against the planogram and ensure each facing matches the UPC # or parts #
  • Accurately backfill product (up to 50 lbs.) in new planogram locations
  • Follow procedures for Overstock and Not on Planogram merchandise per client directive
  • Fill out the planogram sign-off page accurately and completely, where required
  • Assist in installation of graphics and backer paper throughout project location, where required
  • Assist in detailed teardown and re-installation of fixtures
  • Must be willing to complete pre-employment investigative consumer report, pre-employment screening and/or Customer specific Certification program
  • A valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and/or meeting the Fleet driver requirements are required, as well as access to reliable transportation.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time; the ability to use both hands and wrists for repetitive motions. It is also required to frequently be in low-level positions, such as squatting, kneeling, or crouching, as well as frequent standing; the ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. Frequent travel is required via plane or automobile, including overnight stays (up to 100% of the time)
