Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university; one year of experience providing mental health treatment to adults. Must be registered with the Counseling Board as: QMHP-A, QMHP-C, QHMP-E, QMHP-T, etc.

Or

Must be a qualified mental health paraprofessional as defined by State Standards. Experience in mental health and utilization of community resources preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Knowledge of principles and policies of Crescent Counseling and Casework Services (CCCS); knowledge of principles and techniques of basic interviewing and intervention skills; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manages a small caseload (no more than 4 cases at a time) of adult clients providing services on a weekly basis and utilizing short-term, solution focused treatment strategies.

· Provides direct services to clients within the home/community setting, including individual and family sessions, with a minimum of 3 units/6 hours per adult in a Sunday through Saturday work week to meet billing requirements.

· Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hour a day availability.

· Views clients from multiple perspectives, including current level of individual and family functioning based on psychological/emotional, social, academic, medical and behavioral factors, as well as considering substance abuse, skills, strengths, barriers to economic self-sufficiency, treatment history, and other contributing factors.

· Prepares written service/treatment plan, incorporating input from clients, involved service providers, and wrap-around team members, which identifies problem areas and client needs, as well as strategies, interventions, and service objectives to assist clients with achieving the identified treatment goals and objectives.

· Documents case activities for both clinical and billing purposes through progress notes (per session) and quarterly reports, identifying client’s progress towards the goals and objectives identified on treatment plan, as well as barriers, specific client behaviors, interventions implemented during sessions, client response to treatment interventions and the ongoing treatment plan.

· Prepares progress reports as required by referral source or service purchaser.

· Facilitates wraparound/comprehensive services by enlisting existing supports in meeting service objectives, including case involved service providers and professionals, such as psychiatrists, therapists, physicians, specialists, social workers, probation officers and attorneys.

· Participates in interdisciplinary, diagnostic and/or planning meetings.

· Researches, identifies and links clients with additional external programs or services, such as health services, recreational activities, childcare services, financial resources, employment resources, substance abuse related treatment/support groups, transportation resources, and others (based on client’s need).

· Attends court hearings when clients are court-involved and presents testimony and treatment recommendations as requested by attorneys, referral source, the court and/or client.

· Attends weekly clinical supervision, including group and/or individual.

· Works with Clinical Supervisor to increase effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

· Collaborates with Clinical Supervisor regarding workload, case activity, service barriers, and procedural problems in staff (group) and one-on-one (individual) meetings.

· Prepares written Discharge Summary and Plan, as well as identifies recommendations for ongoing treatment/care upon discharge of client.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
